LILY (now Spud)

Hello All - Here are the first pictures of Lily at my house and with her neighborhood playmates. She is a wonderfully sweet girl who acts like she's lived here forever. She quickly took over all of the furniture and bed, andapparently my lap is fair game for her whenever I sit down. She is such ajoy to have around!  I've nicknamed her "Spud" because she's such a couch potato.

CODY

I just wanted to share a brief update about our best friend, Cody on his one-year adoption anniversary (July 17, 2009). Cody came into our lives last July and has been nothing but fun, exciting, and loveable. He has moved from the floor to our bed (and usually my pillow!) and into our hearts and the hearts of everyone he meets. It is hard to imagine life before Cody. We take him everywhere we can in his doggie seat belt. We even found places to eat around town that allow dogs to sit in the patio with us. He has doggie cousins and many human aunts and uncles who dot on him with the same amount of love and affection that his human parents do. We find ourselves rushing home from work to be greeted by his adorable Beagle “eee eee eee” and often playing games of “Chase” in the backyard.

Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to love something that loves us back in an amount more than we ever knew possible.

We will forever be fans of adoption shelters and encourage everyone we know to offer an animal a second chance in a new home.

DR WOOFIE

Hello AAF,

We wanted to let you know about Riley (formerly Dr. Woofie) that we adopted in April of 2008 into our family.  After many hours of "school" for Riley, he placed 1st in Showmanship in the 4H Dog Show at the Warren County Fair Subnovice Class for 4H with his adoring 12 year old handler, Rebecca.  It was a proud moment for both of them and a truly bonding experience.  We really love our dog and thank you for all the good work that you do!

We always knew he was a winner and now he has a blue ribbon to prove it!

Thank you,

GASTON

Hi, I just wanted to give you a quick update, .(Sorry, I'm a bit late getting this out)  Gaston has fit in wonderfully to our home, he adapted very quickly and is the most loving "lap" cat I have ever seen. He is eating well and growing already.  I just want to thank you all for the wonderful job you do with all the animals When my daughter and I adopted Gaston we got there late in the day and your staff did a wonderful job of getting Gaston and everything ready for us to take him home, so thank you.

Thanks again,

SYLAR

Eric and Jo,

God must have been saving Sylar for us!! I just wish it hadn't taken so long for us to realize that he was meant to be a Robinson. He has blended in beautifully---actually faster than we expected per his 2 1/2 years without a forever home. He follows Doug like a shadow but also loves his new mom. He plays so well with our Dane, Bassett, and Kirby!!! I guess it's the puppy in them still. After the 2nd day here, he now leaves Doug's side and will go into the yard with the other dogs. They have all accepted Sylar and we are enjoying our new family member. I truly believe your visit was God's way of bringing such a pure-hearted, loving orphan to us to love back. Now that you know our surroundings and have met our dog family, please call to let us know of any animal you believe would thrive with our love and "dog-heaven" environment. We will adopt any animal your expert knowledge and intuition believes will thrive here. I just don't think I could give a dog back so fostering would be tough for me but in a pinch Doug could foster and I'd just have to try not to get close to it (that will be tough!) Please come out to visit any time now that you know how to get here. To see Sylar as happy as he is (even at this early a stage) living here, will brings joyful tears. You don't even have to call first --if you're this way stop in. If we're not home (rare) come see the dogs anyway---they'll recognize you!! Thanks again for pairing Sylar with us --he has already made us fall in love with him and I believe he with us! We enjoyed your visit and catching up on news. It's a joy to be around like-minded people with hearts for animals.

Sincerely, Jan and (Doug) Robinson
PS. Eric, I thought it was so adorable (and it speaks volumes about how much you care for Sylar) that you called to check on him like a concerned parent sending a child off to college!!

 CINCY

Hello!  We are writing to you almost three weeks after we have adopted our puppy from your foundation.  We wanted to send you a picture and give you a brief update.  We adopted one of the little girls from the lab/boxer mix litter of ten.  Her original name was Mercury but the kids have decided to name her Cincy!  She is a wonderful little girl and is doing fantastic.  She is almost completely house broken.  She can sit and stay on command and the kids are working on getting her to shake.  She loves to walk the older kids to school every day.  She is learning how to take a walk without getting tangled up in everybodys legs and the stroller!!  She has been to the vet to receive her shots and is scheduled to go back on the 30th for her rabies shot.  She wasn't quite ten pounds yet so the vet wanted her to be a little bit bigger.  The vet was amazed at what a sweet and calm personality she seemed to have.  She has truly been a wonderful addition to our family and we would love to keep you posted on her progress!

We are attaching a few pictures of Cincy as well!

SEBASTIAN

We adopted Luke/Sebastian the first day off summer and he went from a Bengals fan to a Browns fan and now he is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. We just wanted to say thank you for letting us adopt such a wonderful cat! He not only loves sitting on shoulders but he enjoys playing with water running from our kitchen faucet. He is quite the character. He fits nicely with our family and he even has his own stocking for Christmas. We just wanted you guys to know he has a loving home and we hope you have a Merry Christmas!
Sincerely,
The Dainton's and Luke/Sebastian

P.S- Don't worry Sebastian still enjoys giving hugs and climbing shoulders

GRACIE

Gracie’s fur is getting really glossy and pretty, and her tail has grown several inches. I can’t believe she’s been with us only 3 weeks; it seems like she’s always been here. We just bought a huge kitty tree for her and her big brother (Felix) to play on, and she climbs all the way to the top in seconds flat.
